How long will it take for my web site to be designed?

The timescale of a website design project is often dictated by the client. If you have a deadline in mind we will endeavor to meet it for you. The most common delay in the creation and completion of a new website is waiting for content (text/images) to be sent to us by the client.

Will we need to have a meeting in connection with the website design?

We would LOVE to meet you! However, most of our clients are not located in Maryland and we have some clients as far away as Canada and Germany! With today's technology there really is no need to limit yourself to what's available in your immediate area. We typically have a pre-design meeting where we learn about yourself, your company, your goals, your philosophy, and go over your favorite websites, likes and dislikes, functionality need, and content requirements.

In the majority of cases a meeting isn't necessary and most of our websites are generally completed with contact via email and telephone only. We place suggested website designs onto the Internet in a private place where only yourselves and us can view the content. We set up a dropbox (virtual cloud drive) where you can place documents and images for use on your website. We then speak with you regularly to discuss the web designs to ensure that the website design and functionality is exactly as you wish.

Do I have to keep my website with you forever, or can I move it to another supplier to host it if I wish?

You may move your website to another web hosting service at any time. Upon request we can send you a full backup of our site files and database with easy to follow instructions on how to restore your entire website to a new host/domain. The Restore process is provided via a step by step wizard which can be performed by professionals and novices with ease.

In what format should I supply words and photographs about my business for my new website?

It is helpful to us if you are able to provide text and photographs in electronic form - for example, the files output by a digital camera and the words in MS word or similar format. We provide a "dropbox", which is a virtual drive that only ourselves and your company have access to so that you can upload your files for our retrieval.

Will my website design be Search Engine Friendly?

Absolutely! The old "If you build it they will come" is NOT true on the WWW, and so many web "shops" depend on your not knowing that. If you can't be found in natural search when a potential client searches for your product or service, your website has failed you.

all of our websites are created with search engines in mind and the website design is compliant with search engine guidelines. It is a good idea for your website to be re-evaluated in time as over a period of time the search engines do alter their rules and algorithms and you will want to be certain that your website is kept up to date and complies with new rules.

Can I see how many visitors I've had to my website?

YES! We provide web tracking software which records where you visitors are coming from and which pages they looked at, which search engines are being used, which phrases are being typed into which search engines and many more interesting web tracking facts which you should find useful for future marketing campaigns.

You will receive your own log-in information to access your analytics console

There is a large list of feature, but a few of the more popular sought after information is Visitors in Real Time, Referrers, Best keywords, Websites, Top Page URLs, Page Titles, Goals, world map of visitors, originating search engine, and more.

If I choose a CMS System 0r Content Management System - can I be sure that my webpages are Search Engine Friendly?

Will everyone see my web site the same?

Your website visitors will see some things differently depending on their browser, screen resolution setting and their individual computer settings and toolbars. We design sites with that in mind and preview them in several browser types and resolution settings before publishing. Obviously as technology alters then eventually all websites may need reevaluation.

Do you guarantee that my site will always be available?

No web hosting service can guarantees 100% uptime. However we can say that our servers have had 100% up time for many years. Should our servers have any problems we do have the necessary backups in place to deal with this issue very speedily.

It is also virtually impossible to guarantee that your site will not get hacked, however, our sites are designed with the latest in CMS Firewall protection, a continuously updated IP Banned list, and our sites work together with Project Honey Pot to provide as much security and prevention as possible. Additionally (with a monthly maintenance agreement) your site is backed up weekly so that it can be re-established within the hour in the case of an unforeseen, unpreventable catastrophe.

Can I get e-mail with my website?

Yes you can have email and you will probably wish you set-up several email addressed e.g. sale@your-domain.com, info@your-domain.com, john.smith@your-domain.com

When can I update my website content?

You can access your administration areas from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection and make updates instantly as frequently as you wish. If you can't find the time, or are not comfortable with making your own update, you may create a support/update ticket at any time, then we can update the website for you. Our charges are very reasonable.

Is there any training provided with the Content Management System - CMS?

Absolutely. Your web design project includes 2 hours of Webinar training on the administrative area of your CMS. You will learn how to update/change/add pages, menu items, images, calendar items (If applicable), and any other areas needing attention. Typically a 1 hour session is plenty to release you in confidence to maintain your system, but another hour is available as part of your package.

We also supply you with PDF version of Joomla! For Dummies, joomla_15_quickstart, HTML for Dummies 5th Edition, and the Search Engine Optimization Bible.

If at any time you have any questions we are available at the end of the telephone to run through the procedures or answer any queries you may have
